2005 Academic Awards Announced

The faculty of The Taft University System has announced the presentation of the 2005 Academic Awards:
The Earl Warren Awards
The Earl Warren Awards are named in honor of the former Governor of the State of California and Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. They are awarded to the first, second, third, and fourth year Juris Doctor students who have earned the highest yearly grade point average in an academic year. The following individuals were honored with Earl Warren Awards:
First Year Student, Wing Fai Tsui, Oakland, California
Second Year Student, Brett R. Yaden, Lake Forest, California
Third Year Student, Jacob J. Pollock, Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Fourth Year Student, Mark Hall, Bakersfield, California
The Kaiser Award 
The Henry J. Kaiser Award is named in honor of the American industrialist. Among other achievements, Mr. Kaiser directed the construction of Boulder Dam, managed Pacific-coast shipyards during World War II, founded Kaiser Steel and established one of the first health maintenance organizations for the benefit of his employees. The Kaiser Award is presented annually to the M.B.A. student who, in the opinion of faculty, submits the best business plan.

The Justice Learned Hand Award
The Justice Learned Hand Award, named in honor of the late United States Appeals Court Justice, is presented to the individual who graduates from the University’s Master of Science in Taxation or Masters of Laws in Taxation Program with the highest grade point average.
Richard Gardner, CPA of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma is the recipient of the 2005 Justice Learned Hand Award.
