As you are no doubt aware, in the southeastern United States, Hurricane Katrina has ripped apart thousands of lives and left thousands homeless. The extent of the damage is unclear at this time but it appears certain that this is the largest natural disaster in the United States in decades.
When communications are restored, any Taft students living in the impacted areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama are encouraged to contact our Director of Student Services. With appropriate documentation, it may be possible to adjust study schedules and tuition installment obligations. Any regular university charges would be waived.
The American Red Cross is launching the largest mobilization of resources for a single natural disaster involving thousands of trained disaster relief workers, tons of supplies and shoulders to lean on. They need cash contributions NOW.
For any current student or future student making a donation to the American Red Cross between now and September 15th, The Taft University System will grant a dollar for dollar tuition credit up to a maximum of $100.00. (i.e., donate $50.00 and receive a tuition credit of $50.00, donate $100.00 and receive a tuition credit of $100.00) Current students will be able to utilize the credit toward their tuition for the next academic year in the law program and next trimester in all other programs. Individuals who are not current students would receive the credit on their initial enrollment provided the enrollment is completed before December 31, 2005.
