(SANTA ANA, Calif. January 12, 2005) David L. Boyd, president of William Howard Taft University announced that the University has contracted with ExamSoft Worldwide, Inc. to provide online examination services to its students.
ExamSoft Worldwide develops and distributes academic examination software solutions encompassing all elements of the examination process to modernize teaching and testing techniques worldwide. It was selected by the University because it also provides services to the State Bar of California in connection with the administration of the California Bar Examination.
Boyd commented that “For the first time, Taft University law students using laptop computers for final examinations will be able to use the same software as individuals sitting for the bar exam. Our students will be in a position to become familiar with the examination software years before taking the bar examination.”
The use of laptops on the California Bar Examination increases with every administration. Statistically, it has been reported that individuals using laptops pass the examination at a significantly higher percentage than applicants who hand write the exam.
