Taft University Offers Congratulations To New Attorneys

SANTA ANA, Calif. (July 12, 2004) The Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California has announced the following graduates of William Howard Taft University’s Juris Doctor Program have passed the February 2004 California General Bar Examination:
Manual Cavazos Austin, Texas
Neil Dunaway Newark, New Jersey
Niel E. Fischer Ukiah, California
Layne E. Hayden Fresno, California
Brian J. Jenkins Tucson, Arizona
Richard J. Parker  Lake Arrowhead, California

The University’s first-time pass rate exceeded the first-time pass rates of three California ABA accredited law schools and equaled or exceeded the first-time pass rates of 12 of the 19 law schools accredited by the California Committee of Bar Examiners.

David L. Boyd, president of the University, praised the efforts of the graduates, “Anyone who can complete four years of independent law study deserves a great deal of admiration. While we’re proud of the school’s success rate on this and past examinations, much of the credit should go to the graduates. Our faculty can provide the map for success but it’s the student who must devote the time to study.”

Individuals passing the General Bar Examination and the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination and who have received positive moral character determinations may either take the Attorney’s Oath individually or have participated in admissions ceremonies that were held throughout the state during June.
