Financial Loan Application Instructions
In addition to the normal personal information required on a standard loan application, you will need to answer the following questions:
“Total Loan Requested” - This amount should equal the total amount
of tuition, as defined below, plus the amount for “additional expenses”
(books, materials, computer equipment, etc.)
“Repayment Term Requested” - Enter any term up to 15 years.
“Interest Only Payments” - You should answer “Yes” if you want to pay interest only during your term of enrollment.
“Number of Interest Only Payments” – Enter any number up to 48 months.
“Deferred Payments” – You should answer “Yes” if you want to have deferred payments during the first year of your loan. (You may select “Interest Only Payments” or “Deferred Payments” but not both.)
“Number of Deferred Payments” – Enter any number up to 12 months.
“Tuition” – Enter the amount of tuition and, if applicable, registration
and computer library fees for the next academic year or trimester. (Use the academic year for the Juris Doctor Programs and the trimester
for all other programs.)
“Date Classes Begin” - Taft has fixed start dates. Please check the academic calendar to find the appropriate date.
“Date Classes End” - Enter the date one year after “Date Classes
Begin,” less two days.
(Example: Classes begin 04/07/08, Classes end 04/05/09.)
“Graduation Date” - Enter the date four years from the “Date Classes Begin”
(JD Program Example: If Date Classes Begin is 04/07/08 then Graduation Date would be 04/07/12 – this is an estimate. MBA or MST/LLM Program Example: If Date Classes Begin is 04/07/08 then Graduation Date would be 04/07/11 – this is an estimate).
“Additional Expense Amount” - Enter the amount you wish to borrow for books, materials, computer equipment, etc. (Up to 60% of tuition, this will be paid directly to you.)
“School Disbursement Date” - Enter the date approximately two weeks before you wish to enroll (Classes Begin Date).
“School Disbursement Amount” - Enter the amount of “Tuition” from the box above. (This will be paid directly to the University.)
